Lagan Group
Lagan Homes is part of the Lagan Group, one of the largest privately owned building materials, engineering and construction groups in Ireland.
The Lagan Group was established in 1965 as a family owned business and has grown organically and through acquisition, currently owning construction related businesses across the UK, Isle of Man and the Caribbean as well as in Ireland. The Group now has an annual turnover of around £400m and is amongst Ireland’s top ten civil engineering firms.
Main business activities include:
- Quarry and asphalt materials
- Cement, concrete and roof tile production
- Clay brick production
- Piling and civil engineering contracting
- PFI/PPP contracting and equity participation
- Commercial property investment and development
- Residential property development
While individual Group companies can call on the combined financial and technical resources and expertise of the Group as required, they are free to pursue a policy of independent operation.
A family business ‘culture’
The Group continues to follow the culture of a family business, equally committed to its customers as well as more than 1,500 staff.
Lagan Homes was originally established in Belfast in 1983 as Whitemountain (Construction) Limited. Now renamed, the company has become one of the most dynamic in the residential building sector in Northern Ireland with a portfolio of prime locations throughout Greater Belfast and beyond.
With an increasing number of land purchases in England, it was decided to open a dedicated office to manage residential developments and so Lagan Homes England was established in Banbury, Oxfordshire early in 2007.
