HELPING HAND FOR HOME BUYERS AT WIXAMS
Connells has joined forces with house builders Lagan Homes to explain how a government led initiative can help purchasers, including first time buyers and key workers, get onto the housing ladder at Wixams, the new community being developed to the south of Bedford.
Through MyChoice HomeBuy eligible purchasers who have a household income of less than £60,000 can, subject to status, receive up to 50% assistance on the price of a home but funds are limited so anyone who wants to take advantage of the scheme needs to act fast.
On 4th and 5th April Lagan Homes are holding an information weekend at their Wixams development during which they will be able to explain how the scheme works and to register those who may be eligible for funding. They will also be able to offer free financial and legal advice and tell purchasers about the many other incentive packages available, which can include a contribution towards surveyors and legal fees and a carpets and curtains package.
“The HomeBuy scheme has been designed to help individuals get on, or in the case of divorced or separated couples, back onto the property ladder,” says John Lougher, Managing Director of Lagan Homes. “In the current housing market we appreciate that it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to purchase their first home but it’s not impossible. By coming along to our information weekend they will have the opportunity to ask questions, find out what’s available and see how we can help. And if they want to bring along parents or friends too, then so much the better.”
