The Ratby Library and Community Group has secured a significant boost to its funding, thanks to a generous £300 donation from Lagan Homes.
Located on Main Street in the heart of the village, Ratby Library is a charitable organisation that provides a fantastic range of services above and beyond book lending. Their café service, crafty corner workshop for kids and regular quiz nights all help to bring the community together in this popular commuter village. Run by a Board of Trustees and a team of willing volunteers, the library relies on donations to help support its services, so this latest injection from Lagan Homes was very well received.
Maurice (Mo) Loft, member of the Ratby Library Board of Trustees said: “We are incredibly grateful for this fantastic donation from Lagan Homes, which will help us to continue to offer our important services for the benefit of the local community.”
Mo continued: “We have struggled to secure sufficient funding following the Covid-19 pandemic, which also resulted in us losing several of our volunteers. We were potentially facing the possibility of closing down, so this generous donation has provided a welcome boost to our funds.”
Harmony Murphy-Grant, marketing manager at Lagan Homes, added: “We’re so pleased to be able to help support this fantastic library and the valuable services it provides to Ratby. At Lagan Homes, we endeavour to do as much as we can to benefit the local communities in which we work, and we wish Mo and his team of Trustees and volunteers all the very best for the future.”
Harmony continued: “We feel very much a part of the community here in the village as we have an office in Pear Tree Business Park and we will also be building a fantastic range of new homes here very soon.”
