This holiday season, Lagan Homes embraced the spirit of community by inviting students from local primary schools to participate in a heartwarming Christmas tree decorating event. The initiative aimed to strengthen the bond between Lagan Homes and the communities they serve in Wilstead, Kingstone, Coventry and Polesworth.
In November, young talents from reception to Year 1 at the respective primary schools adorned Christmas trees in the sales and marketing suites at Cotton Meadows, Kingstone Grange, and Anchor Wharf. The festive activities culminated with an enchanting countdown to the light switch-on, marking the official start of the holiday season.
Rod Ham, Construction Director at Lagan Homes, expressed, “Our commitment to community extends beyond building homes. We wanted to involve the young members of our community in spreading the joy of the season. It was heartening to see the creativity and enthusiasm these children brought to the decoration event.”
In the following month of December, a school in Polesworth joined the festivities, bringing their unique touch to Anchor Wharf. Unfortunately, Coventry School was unable to attend the light switch-on but determined not to let any child miss out on the festive spirit, Lagan Homes personally delivered the Christmas cheer to Coventry School.
Annette Thompson shared her thoughts on the initiative, stating, “At Lagan Homes, we believe in building more than houses; we build communities. The joy and excitement on the faces of these children as they decorated the trees were priceless. It’s about creating lasting memories and fostering connections within the places we call home.”
Valarie Moorcroft, a representative from a school in Coventry, expressed gratitude, saying, “Annette, Jim and Rod were absolutely lovely with the children. They talked about the different jobs builders do such as bricklaying and painting. They also showed some of the equipment to the children which helped them to remember everything.”
Valarie continued, “The children absolutely loved meeting the team and trying on the safety equipment! We really appreciated how patient they were with all the children’s questions! We thank Lagan so much as well for the goody bags. They were so excited to take them home! We hope to keep in touch and maybe see Lagan Homes next year!”
As Lagan Homes continues to shape these thriving communities, the Christmas tree decorating event stands as a testament to the commitment to creating not just houses, but homes filled with warmth, joy, and a strong sense of community.
The show homes and marketing suites are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm at Cotton Meadows, Steeples Green and Anchor Wharf and Friday to Sunday at Kingstone Grange.
